O-1 JR COOLANT
INSTALLATION
|
|
A typical installation of an O-1 JR coolant filter is very basic. Locate
the 2 hoses going "to and from" your heater core. The hose going
"to" your heater core will have a "T" that will supply
a partial flow of coolant to the input of the O-1 JR coolant filter.
The "output" line from the O-1 JR coolant filter will connect to
a "T" on the "return" line from the heater core;
therefore, continuously circulating a partial flow of your coolant thru
the O-1 JR coolant filter. After installation and servicing of the GCF element, a quart of coolant will need to be added to your system.
We suggest adding an additional quart of antifreeze or water every other
element service; you can also add a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze. In
extreme cold weather conditions, it may be necessary to add antifreeze to
maintain your coolant system's protection.
** The ideal place to install the O-1 JR coolant filter is on the
outside of the frame in a convenient place for servicing.
** Please be sure to check your coolant system's ability to withstand
winter conditions prior to winter season via a Prestone or similar coolant
tester.
